Baltimore, MD - Novatec introduced its latest innovation in technology at NPE 2000. The "Big Shot", a large shot, high capacity JIT Vacuum Chamber discharge is the newest addition to Novatec's material conveying solutions line. This new product does what no other JIT discharge has done before: it provides large injection molding machine users the opportunity to use a system with a high capacity, high volume JIT set-up.

Novatec has launched the "Big Shot" as a solution for minimizing inventory as well as spillage. A vacuum chamber is mounted to a six, ten, or fifteen pound capacity polycarbonate sight tube, with a high temperature molded cone bottom. Adjustable photo eye sensors for the load signal reduces material storage at the throat of the machine, reducing inventory costs. The "Big Shot" mounts to a slide plate that moves off of the machine throat for quick access and clean-out during material changes.

Convert any existing standard system to a JIT system with the "Big Shot" - you can update your equipment simply by combining the "Big Shot" technology with your current system!

New Micro Auger Feeder from Novatec Provides Greater Control of Expensive Additives while Reducing Waste  

Baltimore, MD - Novatec's new Micro Auger Feeder is the perfect solution for processors requiring additive feed rates of 7.5 pounds-per-hour or less. The compact Micro Auger Feeder takes up less of a footprint than traditional auger feeders and measures only 15.5" long and 14" high. Its programmable controls allow for variable screw speeds from 0 - 125 rpms to provide greater control of expensive additives while reducing waste. Its 6 pound capacity Feed Hopper as well as the unit's motor are held in place with magnetic contacts and locator pins that allow for quick and easy disassembly for changeover and cleanout.

Now Processors Can Prevent Over-Drying and Control the Moisture Content of Their Resins!

BALTIMORE, MD-Novatec introduces a breakthrough in the ability to control the dew point to assure precision dryness and part flexibility when desired. Latest research indicates certain polyamides, such as Nylon 6 and 6.6, and some polyesters can be over-dried for some applications.

The New Moisture Manager Dryers provide special dew point monitoring and the ability to operate at pre-set moisture levels, removing excess moisture without over-drying. Moisture Manager Dryers are designed with dew point sensors to monitor dryer dew point and material dryness and signal a change in process air flow according to dew point. The dryers feature Novatec's MCD-3000 multi-system controller, which incorporates a backlit LCD display with continuous monitoring of the dew point, dew point changeover, and dryer alarms. The Moisture Manager Dryers are available in a range of capacities and either in electric or indirect, gas-fired configurations.

The Moisture Manager System can be applied to central dehumidifying systems, delivering unheated, dew point air to one or several remote heater/blowers equipped with Moisture Managers, on one or several drying hoppers, each with an individually set drying temperature and dew point control. Novatec Central Dry Air Conveying Systems can be supplied with a central Moisture Manager Dryer, utilizing dry, heated air as the conveying medium to distribute materials to one or more machines.

Continuous Crystallizer Systems

The Novatec Continuous Crystallizer System consists of an insulated hopper with an internal agitator, to prevent agglomeration. A high efficiency heater/blower combination maintains the temperature required for crystallization of amorphous resin. A Novatec material handling system can be provided for conveying materials to and from the crystallizer.
